Management of diabetic foot in Al-Hussein teaching hospital / Samawa

Background : Globally, Diabetes Mellitus is a common health problem that occurs as systemic disease affecting vascular, nervous, skeletal, immune, and integumentary systems.The aim: This study aim intends to evaluate highlight on the management outcome of diabetic foot in AL-Hussein Teaching Hospital – Samawa / AL-Muthanna province determine risk factors adversely treatment prognosis.Patient Methods: Fifty patients diagnosed with Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) ulcer were included this study. The lesions managed by removing dead tissue, triple antibiotic therapy, avoiding weight bearing, proper diabetes control.Results:According gender, percentage DF was 34 (68%) 16 (32%) for males females, respectively. Moreover, results showed 22 (44%) 28 (56%) display type I II DM, Also, 23 out 50 (46%) poorly controlled, ten these cases (43%) underwent amputation. According Wagner Grading System; patient's grade percentages 2%, 30%, 20%, 22%, 14%, 12 % Grade 0, I, II, III, IV, V, All non-responded those treated at home, had poor cooperation, neglect, out-patient follow-up refusal subjected controlled or uncontrolled Ischemic heart (IHD), leukocytosis, anemia, impalpable dorsalis pedis pulse/s, smoking, neuropathy, neglection traditional home revealed significant adverse effects conservative treatment. While hyperglycemia, hypertension site (surgical, orthopedic, emergency departments) less non-significant treatment.In conclusion, DM most lesion. also approved ended amputation, presented Wagner's I.
